"I can't connect my Personal Profile anymore." What to do?

Unfortunately, Instagram made a change that caused personal accounts to stop syncing on December 4, 2024. This new development impacts all 3rd party apps (not just UNUM).

If you’d like your Instagram account to continue syncing, you need an Instagram “professional” profile, such as Creator or Business. This is required by Instagram; we can’t bypass this restriction.

We understand that some of you may not want to deal with the hassle of a Business profile. Fortunately, the Creator profile is a bit more flexible since it doesn’t require you to link a Facebook Page. As with a Business profile, converting to a Creator profile is free, and you can do it seamlessly within our connection flow. Once you do that, you can continue using Instagram (and UNUM) as before.

NOTE:

Instagram doesn’t support private Creator or Business profiles. Converting your personal profile to a professional profile will require you to make it public. If you’d like to preview content for a private profile, we recommend using a “custom” channel and uploading your feed content manually.
